Trawl Deck: Located at the stern of the ship. Space to pull nets up from the sea, which have been dragged behind the boat, and to empty fish onto. |
Sorting Hatches: 3 separate hatches for sorting sea specimens into temperature controlled salt water, which then go to different labs for scientists to measure, classify, photograph, and record information about. |
Winching equipment: Stored at the back of the boat for lowering different sampling equipment and nets into the sea and hauling them up again once specimens have been collected. |
Additional Equipment Storage: Space to store additional equipment needed for taking sea samples including CPR and Sedimentary Traps. |
2 Inflatable Work Boats: To enable scientists to get closer to an area of study, eg. whales. |
